Ray White Big Day Out

By Brent Higgins

It may not be 60,000 people in the middle of a sweltering hot Summer day like its namesake, but our Ray White Group certainly know how to put on a show.

On Wednesday 28th November all staff members from each of our four (4) offices in Maroochydore, Buderim, Mooloolaba and Mountain Creek converged on the Maroochy RSL to attend the Annual Ray White Big Day Out.

Each year this event brings together staff from all facets of our business including Sales, Property Management and Administration. It is quite a feat to arrange all 70+ staff to be in the same place at the same time.

The Ray White Big Day Out is an opportunity to acknowledge everything from the year that was, while looking towards the coming year and beyond.

This year’s event started with a bang, hearing from the Sunshine Coast branch of Guide Dogs QLD. This included some very special fluffy presenters, including William, Champ and Duke- an 8 week old guide dog puppy in training. To see Champs party trick click here. Shayne, a local Guide Dog recipient also explained first-hand how fundamental the assistance from Guide Dogs QLD is to the vision impaired.

Our group has just become a part of the ‘Harness Club’ after donating $2,500 to Guide Dogs QLD. This club allows us to sponsor a litter of Guide Dog puppies and watch their progression through training and onwards.

We were also fortunate enough to have Jenny Carroll, the President of local charity Bloomhill in attendance. As long term major sponsors of Bloomhill  it was touching to hear of the great work they are achieving daily.

Ms Carroll explained that Bloomhill includes 400 volunteers in addition to on-site professional staff. The local state-of-the-art Therapy Centre assists thousands of cancer patients each year. Bloomhill is a truly local charity, with all donations strictly raised and spent on the Sunshine Coast.
