This holiday season, our offices are proud to support Seed Disability Support Services in spreading joy to two families in need.
Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s canned goods or a small gift, your generosity will help bring happiness and peace to these families this Christmas, creating moments of joy and big smiles.
Read their stories below:
The C Family: A Christmas of Love and Hope
The C family is a close-knit group of three soon to be four: Mum, her two children, and a baby on the way. They love taking a short walk to the beach, where they can often spot whales in the distance. This year has been especially tough for them financially. With no extended family to lean on and only a few friends due to the challenges they face living with a disability, Mum has carried the weight of it all. Despite the struggles, she continues to save every penny she can, determined to make this Christmas special for her little ones.
Mum has always dreamed of cooking special meals for her family, but it’s a skill she never had the chance to develop. This Christmas, she’s determined to start that journey—hoping to finally create the kind of holiday she’s always envisioned: a Christmas filled with love, warmth, and the comfort of family meals shared around the table. Her eldest child is a bundle of energy and excitement. He finds comfort in his playful dog and is eagerly anticipating the twinkling lights and the magic of Santa to arrive. Her youngest adores all things girly and is already dreaming of ways to make Christmas bright for her family. What touches our hearts the most is that both kids are planning to make Mum a gift—something they can put under the tree for her.
For the C family, Christmas isn’t about extravagant gifts or over-the-top decorations. It’s about experiencing the warmth, magic, and joy that so many of us take for granted. Their greatest wish is simply to share a special moment together and make memories they will treasure forever
The H Family: A story of Resilience and Hope
The H Family is a lively family of six – Mum, Dad and their four boys. Their home is always full of noise , fun and love, with wrestling matches, loud play and plenty of laughter. These boys run a lot and eat even more!
Mum and the three older boys live with complex disability needs, over time, Mum has learned to understand their “secret” language, which is a beautiful example of the bond they share. Mum is also learning how to sew, hoping it will help her earn some income—and she’s really good at it! Dad works long hours to provide for his family but he always makes sure to come home for dinner and spend time with his boys.
Despite all the love in their home, the H family is facing tough times. The rising cost of living has made it hard to make ends meet and they are struggling with the possibility of homelessness due to the housing crisis. This Christmas, the H family has one simple wish: to enjoy the holiday season together without the stress of their daily struggles. Being able to share a Christmas meal or receive small gifts would mean the world to them. The boys would be thrilled with the simplest things—a cardboard box over a toy!
