Aside from its proximity to great beaches, the new suburb of Birtinya is part of the Kawana Waters residential development, boasting apartment living overlooking Lake Kawana as well as new house and land packages.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that more and more buyers from outside the Sunshine Coast are looking toward the region and places like Biritnya and Kawana Waters as lifestyle alternatives. Attracted by the proximity to good services and other areas of the Sunshine Coast, Kawana Waters is home to families and retirees alike.
Birtinya and Kawana Waters are set to benefit from road and rail upgrades to the area. Birtinya is also set to be home to a multi-million tertiary hospital after being identified as one of the Sunshine Coasts emerging centres in the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program.
Kawana Shopping World
The centre opened in 1979 and was the first shopping centre to open on the Sunshine Coast. The centre has since undergone refurbishments, the most recent in 2014, in which a new food court was developed.
