‘Tis The Season

By Brent Higgins

This Christmas our group of offices at Ray White Maroochydore, Buderim, Mooloolaba, Mountain Creek and Sippy Downs  came together to help spread some much needed joy to  local families that are battling through the debilitating evils of cancer.

Internally, each office ‘adopted’ a family from that were nominated by Bloomhill. We then ran a drive inviting staff members to donate luxury Christmas items and gifts for the families. The idea being that these are the first items many go without when faced with  huge medical expenses. This goes hand in hand with the Bloomhill motto- helping people live well with cancer.

These families rely on the support of the Bloomhill Cancer Help Centre in Buderim. Bloomhill Cancer Help is doing beautiful things for patients and their families every single day by offering immediate emotional support for any person going through the crisis of being diagnosed with cancer. This help extends to include family members and their carers from the time of diagnosis.

Bloomhill focuses on the emotional and practical needs of people diagnosed with cancer and others with a life threatening illness and provides leading edge psychosocial care to patients, their carers, other family members and their friends. The care given focuses on survival and quality of life.

Bloomhill is self funded, relying upon local support. Funding comes from the operation of local Op-Shops and from community and business donations. All money is raised and distributed on the Sunshine Coast.

There are many ways to get involved with the great work of Bloomhill, simply visit Bloomhill-Get Involvedfor further information.

This Christmas we urge that if you are not helping someone less fortunate then please help somebody that is. On behalf of every staff member within our group, have a fantastic Christmas and we look forward to all that 2014 will bring.
